Frequently asked questions
Short answers. If yours isn’t here, our team is happy to help.
Getting started
What is the Study Abroad Portal?
A free place to build one study abroad profile and connect with universities and institutions that fit your goals, in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, Türkiye, China, Japan and Korea.
Should I use the portal or your guidance service?
The portal is the quickest way: create your profile and match with institutions directly. If you’d rather have one-to-one help with choosing programmes and preparing documents, our office team offers a separate guidance service, which you can see how it works. You can use both.
Do I need to fill in everything?
No. Start with the basics and add more when you can. Your completion bar shows what’s missing, and a fuller profile matches with more programmes.
Which documents should I prepare?
Usually your passport, transcripts and certificates, an English test result or English-medium letter, a CV and a personal statement. The portal shows a checklist for each country you choose. Upload PDF or image files of up to 4 MB each.
I don’t have IELTS or TOEFL. Can I still apply?
Yes. You can add other tests such as Duolingo or PTE, or a letter from your university confirming you studied in English. Each institution decides what it accepts.
Matching and privacy
How does matching work?
Institutions set what each programme needs. The portal compares your profile with it and shows you the programmes where you are a good fit.
Who can see my information?
Institutions first see an anonymous summary without your name or contact details. Your full profile and documents are shared with an institution only after you agree and confirm by email.
Can I hide my profile?
Yes. Untick “Let verified universities find my anonymous profile” at the top of your profile at any time. You can still send your profile to programmes yourself.
Can I withdraw an application?
Yes, from your Applications page, until it has been submitted to the institution. After that, write to support@studyingplus.org.
Fees and payment
What does it cost?
Creating a profile and seeing your matches is free. When you submit your profile to a programme, you pay a platform fee plus any application fee that institution charges. You’ll see the total before you confirm.
How do I pay?
We send a Wise or PayPal payment request in US dollars, or in your own currency where they support it. After paying, enter the transaction ID in the portal and we confirm it. Your bank may add international fees, exchange-rate differences or taxes.
Is admission guaranteed?
No. Admission, scholarship and visa decisions are made by the institutions and authorities, not by Studying Plus.

Create my free profileJoining
What does it cost for institutions?
Terms for institutions are set out in a written partner agreement with Studying Plus. Write to partner@studyingplus.org to discuss.
Who can join?
Universities, colleges, language schools, pathway providers and other education institutions. A member of the admissions, international, business development or marketing team registers, and Studying Plus verifies the institution before it gets access.
How many people from our team can use it?
Up to 8 people: 2 admins and 6 reviewers. Admins can share out the work and set review targets for each member.
Finding students
How do we set our requirements?
Add a programme and choose what it needs, such as grades, English tests, admission tests and documents. Mark each one as required or optional, and choose the match level you want to see.
How do we receive students?
Browse matching students and request the ones you like, or ask Studying Plus for a larger list. Students can also send their profiles to you directly.
When do we see a student’s full profile?
After the student agrees and confirms by email. Until then you see an anonymous summary.
Can we charge an application fee?
Yes, you can set one for each programme. Students see it before they submit. Write to partner@studyingplus.org to arrange how fees are settled with you.
